Candle – 4/11/2016

Oh,
Heat!
Flame,
Flicker on.
Burn, Sizzle.
Puffs of smoke.
Crackle and pop,
Dark, ashen wick.
Quiver and dance.
Shutter against the wind,
And throw golden light.
Illuminate the walls,
shadows  askance.
Melted wax,
Entice and temp.
Tease, tingle,
Pleasure,
Euphoria.
Blow out,
Embers,
Fizzle,
Die.
Shh.

Scarred – 3/19/2016

Cover me in sin,
Honey thick and sweet with desire.
Scratch it into my skin.
Leave marks.
Marks that will last for hours,
For days, for months, for years,
Forever.
Bruise me until it hurts.
Brand me.
Leave scars.
A calling card,
A signature that can never be erased.
So deep,
Your love will fill my pores,
Burn my blood,
Fill the gaping pockets inside the marrow of my bones.
Every inhale will be glorious pain.
Ecstatic blazes that will scorch and seer,
into white hot pleasure.
Every exhale will be my relief,
A gasping sigh filled with my cindered, smoldering love.
Let your devotion,
your constancy,
Seep into these ravaged layers,
Lying here just for you,
As indelible as ink stains on fingertips.
Leave scars that will remain,
Through the rest of time,
So that not even the Earth that swallows me,
Could ever dream to forget,
The love scars you left behind.

Ghosts – 2/5/2016

tumblr_nwt5fgbbj31svrh8zo1_540

The ghosts rolled in upon the fog.
Spirits whispering upon the air
Their stories,
Their histories,
Their secrets.
They gasp and sigh,
Upon the silent, gossamer light of dawn
Across the branches of the trees,
Against cold, scarred, marbled edifice,
Along the cold, pavement of vacant streets,
And through blackened fences of wrought-ed iron.
Leaving abandoned tears
In condensation upon window panes
The air is heavy with it,
Dense and humid.
For when we breathe in this heavy mist,
We take in the aged,
Feel these ghosts cling to our clothes,
Leave their cloying murmurs upon youthful skin.
So that they may rejoin this vibrant life
Until the passage of Time
Brings forth the riotous sun
Risen victorious from the ashes of night,
To burn the dregs
Of clinging ghostly fog away.

Snowfall – 12/27/15

ce07c80606df9c970aa051ac33fbf4e7

Here in the darkened midnight
Falling snow
Echoes
Upon the still fragile edges of blackened light
and tarnished shadow
Time stills
and like sands through hour glasses
The flakes rush down from riotous clouds
And make for twinkling ghosts
That haunt the bleak trees
And cover all the earth
With the heavy gravity
Of nature’s final…
Gasping…
Struggling…
Death.

TARDIS

Now I lay me down to sleep,
I promised the doctor that I will not weep.
If I should die somewhere between time and space,
Let there be another companion to take my place!
For that mad man should never be alone,
Always spreading hope in the sound of that blue box’s wheezing drone.
Never cruel or cowardly,
We all promise proudly.
Never give up, never give in,
Even at the darkest parts we’ll always grin.
Whether facing Davros Dalek or Cybermen,
The doctor will triumph no matter where or when.
Now I lay me down to sleep,
I promised the doctor I will not weep.
If I should die somewhere between time and space,
Let there be another companion to take my place!

Beggar’s Hands

Forgive me if I beg of you the gift of your soul
With beggar man’s hands that are rank and shaking
Please do not look upon my weaknesses
For they are ugly and unclean
Do not lay upon me your love
For I am a selfish creature
and will consume until my gluttonous thirst is quenched
You are too good to give me all
As I will devour you undaunted by sin or conscience
I will have everything and make no apologies
For this, I now see why you should purge
And leave me abandoned and waiting
But if I turn to you,
beggar’s hands open, my soul longing
Would your own soul answer mine?

Epitaph – Labor Day, 2015

Unrepentant and full of sin
I doubt St. Peter will let me in
For my soul do not pray
Instead I simply ask you enjoy your day
For me, take in every kind of pleasure
A day cream-filled with hedonism and leisure.
For when a holy man calls you a heathen
I doubt there is much hope for heaven
For this soul is free as a bird
From the heavy burden of a life inured
By goodliness and accountability
Weighed down by tolerance and susceptibility
Instead I account to no one, free of a pious dedication
And simply live a life of predilection
In every way I encourage you to do the same
And no longer allow others to force your life to be tame
For it is our own pleasure we seek in every mile
And if we’re going to hell, we might as well go with a smile.
I will have no regrets, and in eternity you’ll see.
That there was no more gratified sinner than me.
So in this last moment I say goodbye
In this ground here I lie
I loved you all and this is true
For there is no one I cherished more than you.
So do not cry and do not wait
Live your life, its your’s to take.
Take a lesson here from me.
Life is so much more than ‘to be or not to be.
And this you must take with you least.
This is not a soul that wants to rest in peace.
I will rampage and rebel
So even the devil will have a story to tell
In hell they build me a throne
And when you come down you’ll not be alone
For in hell I am the queen
Of fire, sex, lust, envy and greed.
So come one, come all and join me down here
Down here its a thousand degrees all year.
Please join me and take your ease
For I relish a life lived as I please
Unrepentant and full of sin
I doubt St. Peter would let me in.

Exposed–

To think that I am an open book
Is a joke
I am not sun warmed pages
Flitting back and forth on a breeze
I am not something that lies there
Patiently open and ready to gain attention
It is so much more dreadful than that
I am an open wound, burning, bleeding
I am a raw nerve, treading on thin ice
Picture eyes blinded by the sun
Chaotic and unable to focus
I am a Polaroid burning and bubbling
In a fire of emotion
This is my curse
I am not an open book
I am a wreck
I am a natural disaster you can’t ignore
I am exposed
And every one can see it.
Don’t you?

Cosmos —

I look for the day
When the universe exists
Between the span of my skin between your hands
My nerves will supernova between your fingers
As you leave galaxies in the hot trails scratched into my skin
The space between our souls would be the void
Every electric exhale between us
Stars would condense into white dwarfs of delicious tension
The world would exist every time I looked into your eyes
I would be able to look up at the sky
And never have to wonder
Because the universe would be
The space taken up by you and me.

Null & Void —

In the farthest reaches of space
Where light is measured in years
Millions turn to billions
And infinity is just a game to be played
There is nothing.
Emptiness and black nothingness reign
The stark reality of the outer realms
Where there are no dreams
No souls to welcome you
No galaxies
No heaven and no hell
Just the cold, quiet blissful void
The universe has answered our questions
And we must glory in her refrain
Mankind searches and this is her response
We are certainly not alone
But like death
When we reach the end
There is nothing but silence.
